PENFA *Pesticide Environmental Fate Analysis* Project

ACTIVE

The Project PENFA was sponsored under DEMETER

Pesticides played an irreplaceable role during agriculture production and the efforts to feed the ever-growing population. Their excessive use has been harmful to crop production, food safety, and human health.

MySens – Biodegradable mycelium-based immunosensor

ACTIVE

Funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus

MySens* aims to develop a new innovative technique that will utilize the sensory abilities of fungi to create mycelium-based immunosensors, while also being environmentally friendly as mycelium-based materials are composed exclusively of biocompatible components thus they are biodegradable in nature.

Inflammation/Coagulation – Disease Activity Monitoring Device

ACTIVE

Funded by the Research and Innovation Foundation

Bio-Rheology, Bio-Fluid Mechanics, Bio-Microfluidics, advanced Data Processing methods and e-Health software systems will be utilised to develop a prototype point of care system for the monitoring of inflammation and coagulation in blood.

GRIDIRON

ACTIVE

Funded by the Digital Innovation Hub (DIH)

GRIDIRON project is supported through DIH (Digital Innovation Hub) Program started in February 2022. Our main focus is the incorporation of an intelligent automated testing system in our laboratory,

Post-Doc - Listeria Biosensor

SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED

Funded by the Research and Innovation Foundation

Improved and accurate techniques that provide fast detection are of great importance, since it is very crucial to detect the pathogen and withdraw the contaminated products from the market before their distribution to consumers and prevent human infection.

Air Particle Covid-19 Detection

SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED

Funded by the Research and Innovation Foundation

As airports, ports and public spaces are looking to open up, the issue of high throughput testing is vital. Many people infected with COVID-19 show mild symptoms, especially during the first
stages of the disease. Avoid closing your business by adding a new line of defense with Covid-19 air particle detection.

Concept CovBeld 0071

Proof of Concept - Listeria Biosensor

SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED

Funded by the Research Promotion Foundation

In this project, we tested and developed the first biosensors which immediately detect Listeria in samples before they hit the market. The offer to demand ratio is extremely low as standard analysis methods for bacteria are usually very slow, delivering a test result within days or even weeks with an additionally high cost per test.
